Do You Speak Russian?

When readers click on your Email link on your Blogger Profile Page (below) they end up at a Russian website.

But Ron, you don't even have a Blogger Profile page.... at least I don't know where it is on your sidebar. I didn't know anybody could reach you by e-mail.

AND... when I click on my E-mail link, I don't get the Russian thing.

Kay- Happy TG, does that even sound right, the abbreviation I mean, lol. Anyways .... you see your screen name on this page above your comment .... if you click on it, it'll take you to your Profile Page for those who have a Blogspot blog. My memory is hazy, but clicking on the screen name formerly use to take you to the commenter's website directly, sorta like a direct flight. Instead, now you have to transfer planes so to speak at the Profile Page and click on the listed blog or blogs and two-step it to get to the commenter's blog.

At the Profile Page, on the left sidebar, there should be an Email contact link if the author enabled it. Try see. I just clicked on your name and ended up at the Russian website (from Blogger profile page). I also tested other commenters' Email, and the same thing.

I can't even find your profile on your blog page. I tried somebody else's "View My Complete Profile" and got to the "Contact" and "Email." When I clicked on it, it sent me directly to my email so I could send a message to that person. I didn't go to any Russian place. Uh... oh... the KGB must be after you.

Kay- if you click on my screen name above my comment it'll take you to my Profile Page with the Email link. I tested for the redirect glitch on numerous Blogspot blogs and still ended up in Russia with ....

When I go to your profile, Ron, and hover over your Email link, the thing shows "mailto:alawaikiki@aol.com".

I think you just have a virus or something in your computer that has changed your default mail program to that Russian crap. Depending on what browser you use, you can go into your settings and choose, under an "Applications" tab, what your default program is for "mailto:" links.

Cloudia- and the 'strange' affects everybody's Email link on their Blogger Profile that I click on. Like if I click on your Email link found on here, it's back to Russia.

Brad- the hover indeed gives the my authentic Email, but when I click on it, or the equivalent on anybody's Email on their Profile Page I end up in Russia. It's only with the blogger email, there's no email redirects other than that. I've been searching Blogger's support page because submitting the problem as a question to the support guru's is an entire different matter of its own. The russian site though doesn't seem to be the culprit because it seems they require some kind of sign-in step .... see for yourself here.

Could just be to get eyes on their site. No one will sign up if they don't know it exists, and some people aren't too bright, Ron. They'll sign up thinking it's part of Blogger, or required for full use of Blogger. Same may even sign up with their Blogger login-in credentials. I'm sure it's got something to do with your computer specifically if it's only happening to you.

Brad- in the overall scheme of things the glitch is fairly harmless. The blogger cure is the, those support volunteers on a mission, can be more problematic.

I just sent you a message on your link. Nyet on the Russia thing so far.

Kay- copy that, your email came through. It's baffling since the glitch only affects Email links specifically on Blogger pages. Anywhere else there's no problem. It's impossible to imagine how they (hackers) accomplished this. I've tried submitting a different Email address to no avail, so I returned it back to the original Email address. Some hackers just do these things for bragging rights among their close knit group or acquaintances.
