....in other big news, Mayor Mufi Hannemann has proposed renaming Magic Island after President Barack Obama. Obama and ohana (family) are planning to celebrate both Christmas and New Year's in the islands this year. You know where I going with this. Is Mayor Mufi's gesture a gift wrapped royal kiss-ass, if ever there was one, in anticipation of Obama's arrival in the islands?

You guys (meaning the huge surf) made headlines on italian tv last night. In fact, for once they weren't rehashing the whole Amanda "Foxy Knoxy" case to bits and pieces.
Rowena- the entire contest was streamed live from NYC to Australia, and many points between. And, hey, glad to hear that you're still alive after all your festivities.
I'm not much in favor of changing the name either. It's so confusing. They did that to several sports fields in Chicago and we were very unhappy about it.
