Freecycle

I heard about "Freecycle" by way of another *blog in another part of the country that I read regularly. Freecycle (USA) describes itself as the following....

We are an innovative project that connects people through email with things they want to throw away with others who would like to have those things. Any member of the community can post an item they'd like to give away, or an item they are seeking. The only rule: Every item that's posted must be free.

The same website also mentions that "Offers" are preferred over "Wanted" postings. Haha. The Honolulu chapter of Freecycle is here. I gathered from parsing over the listings that if someone picks up the item that you "offered" (for free), then you're suppose to follow up with a "taken" notice as shown in the 2 examples below....

I have 2 working vacuum cleaners to offer. One is a green Bissell brand but the attachment came off (probably can be glued back but hubby...

Taken:Two working vacuum cleaners (Kunia)
One has been picked up and the other is pending pick up. Mahalo!...

OFFER--2 CHRISTMAS MUGS--EWA BEACH
Photo in my photo album. Two Christmas mugs, snowman is Williams Sonoma and the other is a country looking mug with gingerbread boys and girls on it. Both are...

TAKEN--2 CHRISTMAS MUGS--EWA BEACH
Didn't think these would be so popular. They have been picked up. Mahalo for your interest. Happy Holidays....

Hello Ronw,
Nice to meet you. Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving your kind comment. Your new blog looks like a lot of fun. I'd love to stop by again sometime. I love the Freecycle concept.

Kay- I ride a Valkyrie and a Honda Shadow 600. Say hello if you see me pass by. Freecycle is something that I'm not personally vouching for, just needed something to blog about. Also, I was with TypePad for about 4½ years but their "new and improved" blogging software had so many glitches that I pulled the plug on them.
