Ground Zero Mosque

Here are two opposing points on the Ground Zero mosque.

The mosque should not be built .... because the 9/11 terrorists were Muslims, and I don't care how many times you argue that "not all Muslims are terrorists."  With a very few exceptions, all terrorist acts have been carried out by Muslims. It is a foregone conclusion that the next terrorist act will be carried out by a Muslim. Then should we allow a mosque to built in the shadow of that site too?

The mosque should be built .... because that will demonstrate to the Muslim world that America is not against Islam even in a post 9/11 atmosphere. What decent Muslim could deny America's righteousness after such a compassionate act?

I don't think our Constitution allows us to ban the building of the Mosque. However, they could build this center for understanding a little (lot?) farther away from the Twin Towers and been more understanding of the painful feelings of many Americans.

And Obama says it's OK!

Brad- you have a point with 9/11 being the very reason we're fighting in Afghanistan, and the connotations to a Muslim mosque near the world trade center, all the while we're fighting muslims who wish for the destruction of the US.

Kay- agreed. If pursued to the US Supreme Court, the mosque people will prevail.

Nate- I saw something in the news today about Obama giving the mosque the thumbs up. I haven't read it yet.
