this mobile redemption truck was at the Times Super Market parking lot. I guess they have a set schedule where and when they're be on such and such a day of the week. They ought to station themselves at a park during a holiday. Picnic-ers would even bring them a plate lunch.
only a single Koa wood canoe plies the waters of the Ala Wai canal. The rest are all of fiberglass hulls.

Cloudia- howzit.
It used to be nickel & diming...now it's only nickeling.
Rowena- no, no, it's based the State's HI-5 deposit on beverage containers that they tack on at the cash registers. A dime was way way back for empty Primo bottles.
Anybody remember Royal Beer?
Nate- never drank the stuff. But I do remember the pupus (hordeurvs) being way much better.
Changing the subject - see what's happening at the zoo parking lot? Next place Magic Island!
Nate- and they publicized the free-parking loophole?? When I was working on the Ft. DeRussy parking structure, I never quite understood why they didn't add another two levels of parking, since we were at fast production, hitting our stride, repeating the same sequence. They could block off the upper levels. Then as parking got more scarce in Waikiki, open up the upper parking levels.
I don't think they publicized it but that lady must have told the news and they jumped on it.
"Alas poor Muffy, exposed again!"
The Ft. DeRussy parking structure? That was an Army project and their property to serve the Hale Koa. And there are restrictions on what they could build. Agree with you though. Could have been making more money for the Army.
Nate- if Mufi gets elected, we're in for the most corrupt administration ever. Of course, you already knew that.

The Ft. DeRussy parking structure and the 2nd hotel building supposedly was paid for entirely by the profits from the first hotel. Ft. DeRussy is reputedly self-supporting, and it doesn't take public funds. It just that when we were working on the 3rd floor of the parking structure, we were building so fast, you wouldn't believe it. Well, same forms for the beams, same place, same thing for the supporting columns. And the slabs were just as quick. Actually, like any highrise where the floor plan repeats itself. If they had the forethought to add a 4th and 5th floors, we'd had finished that up in and eyeblink. Plus, I think the parking structure was suppose to be an emergency shelter. Not for the hobos, but if hypothetically a hurricane made a direct hit on Honolulu. Not 100-percent sure with that, however.
Yup, the Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF) of the Moral Welfare Recreation (MWR) people. In all the services. And yes they keep all the profits of their various activities. But they spend it according to what Congress says. MWR runs child care centers, family centers, teen centers, clubs, restaurants, etc. on all bases.
Did I ever tell you about Muffy hijacking lunches in the ninth grade?
