Gas in Connecticut is $3.90 to $3.95 (for the cheapest grade of gasoline). We just bought a Costco membership so, among other things, we can now buy gas at the deep, deep discount of $3.70. This is sad.
Showing you how old I am - I remember in the late 60s driving my VW Bug from Syracuse, NY to NYC (lower Manhattan) for $5. About 350 miles. Think gas was 30 something cents per gallon.
The gas story continues...it seems that Connecticut has "special" (read: additional) taxes on its gas. Therefore, those that live close to the border of Massachusetts are driving there to get gas, because it's $0.20 to $0.30/gallon cheaper. Nuts. I have a whole bag of dried corn for the squirrels. Think I can convert that to gas?
Hi Nate- whatever was a local boy doing in NY state those days. Btw, I remember when I first tried to get on a LA freeway, almost came to a complete stop on the onramp before entering the 80mph speedway, whew.
Hi Ann- for the squirrels sake, don't feed them a whole bag of corn. They'll convert the squirrels to gas.
Was going to Syracuse University, when it WAS good in football - with Floyd Little and Larry Csonka. My first ever game I watched there was with Little as a sophomore (no freshman players in those days) scoring all five touchdowns in beating Kansas 35-0 with Gayle Sayers as a senior, who was completely shut down.

Hi Ann- you're kidding? This is getting ridiculous.

No joke. And, when I woke up this morning, the local news shared that prices are now up to $4.05 for the lowest price gas. I wish I could telecommute.

Hi Ann- my professional advice is to buy corn while we still can afford to. Does that make sense?
