Tonight, I was stopped behind a pizza delivery car which had that sign they plop onto the top of the car's roof instead of surf racks, and from the back of vehicle I noticed that the driver had installed a color GPS screen onto his dashboard. What with the escalating price of gasoline, I guess an investment into a GPS system could net a pizza delivery person a savings within a few weeks. Perhaps, even sooner. How do countries where gas sells for $7 a gallon at the pump afford to delivery pizzas? ![]()

Mean here in Okinawa - about $6 per gallon on the economy for regular. Luckily on-base it was $3.42 for mid-grade (only thing they sell) when I bought last two weeks ago, though probably has gone up some.

Hi Nate- I'm amazed that there's hasn't been a lot of gasoline thefts yet.

It's just a futures game at this point, and the oil companies messing with us. I don't mind that the price has gone up as it is having an affect on some peoples behavior. So much oil is simply wasted... Ahh. I should get stated on this. Have a happy monday.

Hi Pehea 'Oe- the problem is that plastics, too, derive from oil. Everything you wear, ink, plastic bottles, LCD screens, ect. ect., are petro based. Before the Iraqi War, oil sold for $60/bbl, and there might be a correlation. Plus, the sinking dollar. However, remember just after Bush was elected in 2000, Cheney snuck the oil executives through the back door of the White House to get advice on writing oil regulations? When the very rules to regulate an industry are rules dictated by the industry itself....I bet we just might end up with oil gouging.
